The Shelburne Craft School will host rotating art shows in the gallery space on a quarterly basis beginning June 5. Each art show will feature each area of craft that the organization teaches. The theme is instructor and their student’s work which is a great opportunity to share with one another and the community, the joy of creating. Community members are urged to stop by the first opening reception on Thursday, June 5 from 5-7pm and celebrate Evelyn McFarlane’s oil paintings and her student’s work. The art show will be on display until Aug. 28.
McFarlane was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and graduated from Cornell University with a degree in architecture. After working and teaching as an architect she decided to follow her heart into a career in painting and began a three-year program of drawing at the Florence Academy of Art, in Italy, under the direction of Daniel Graves. She has been teaching at the Shelburne Craft School since 2011 and resides in Essex with her artist husband, Hunter Eddy, and their daughter.
