June 2 S Redhawks Recap SCGolf team finishes season

At the Vermont D-I state championship at Country Club of Vermont on Wednesday, June 4 Champlain Valley finished in sixth place. Peter Scrimgeour carded a 78 which qualified him for regionals, while Ryan Grabone-Akey scored 80, Carter Knox finished with a 86, Will Ryan, 88, and Patrick Pattison 89.

Redhawks advance with comeback win

With only 15 seconds remaining in regulation, Champlain Valley’s Dylan Schaefer scored to complete the Redhawks come-from-behind 7-6 win over Essex in a Division I high school boys lacrosse quarterfinal last Friday. Schaefer’s game-winner capped a four-goal, two-assist outing. Griffin Diparlo (two goals) and Steele Dubrul (one goal) contributed, while Owen Hudson made eight saves.

Girls lacrosse team bows out

Megan Gannon, Anne Keen, and Molly Dunphy scored two goals apiece but it wasn’t enough to defeat Mount Anthony who cruised past the Redhawks 18-9. Bailee Pudvar made nine stops.

Hornets sting Redhawks

Essex defeated Champlain Valley 14-2 in last week’s D-I high school softball action. Elizabeth Boutin went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Natalie Gagnon took the loss.
