Freelance writers: create sense out of your business cents

Financial instructor Christine Moriarty will be teaching a mini-course at the Writer’s Barn in Shelburne on Wednesday, July 16. The course will focus on managing money as a free-lance writer or independent author and cultivating tools that can be immediately applied to your vocation. The workshop covers: building your writing income for the long term, your relationship with money, and managing money basics such as taxes. Moriarty aims to help writers anticipate and embrace the changing environment to the benefit of their business and peace of mind.

Christine Moriarty graduated from the University of Vermont (UVM) with a BS in Finance and received her Masters in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from Babson. She is frequently featured as a financial planner in the Boston Herald, and has been published in USA Today, Good Housekeeping, Better Homes & Gardens, Fidelity Focus Magazine, and the LA Times. She has taught financial classes at the UVM, Boston University, Merrimack College, Champlain College, and Pine Manor College.
