The Shelburne Selectboard met Thursday morning, July 3 to set the FY2015 Shelburne Property Tax Rate. The homestead tax rate was set at $1.8085 while the non-residential rate was set at $1.8775, increases of 4.6 percent and 5.2 percent respectively. Shelburne property tax payers will pay $80 more for residential property taxes and $92 more for non-residential property taxes, per $100,000 of assessed value compared to last fiscal year (in other words if your homestead is valued at $300,000 your property tax bill will increase by $240). Roughly 80 percent of Shelburne’s property tax bill goes towards education, 20 percent goes for municipal operations. Tax bills for this fiscal year will be in the mail on or before July 15.
