The Shelburne Recreation and Yoga Roots, a local Shelburne yoga studio, hosted a free yoga class at Shelburne Beach Sunday, July 13. Overlooking the lake and the mountains the lawn was filled with 40 plus yoga practitioners of all ages and abilities. The two things they all had in common was a love for the outdoors and yoga.
“Yoga on the beach is a great way to celebrate the beauty around us as well as the beauty within,” said Helen Lisle King, last Sunday’s Yoga Roots instructor. “Being all together in community, moving and breathing with the lake is a magical experience.”
“We are grateful to the Town of Shelburne and Shelburne Recreation to provide such an incredible place so we can share the yoga experience with the greater community,” adds Heidi Bock, co-owner of Yoga Roots.
Another free class will be held Sundays, July 27, Aug. 10 and Aug. 24 from 8-9am. Participants do not need to be a Shelburne resident to attend. No registration necessary just bring a mat. If you don’t have one, there will be a few extras on site.
