Book sale success
The 50th anniversary was a banner year for the book sale! The Friends of the Pierson Library want to thank everyone who donated their books, volunteered their time, and attended the sale to look for treasures. The money raised by the sale helps fund programs and buy books and equipment for the library.
Inger Dybfest and Gene Schinto sorted and packed all of our books. Boy Scout Troop 602 carried tons of books up the stairs to the Highway Department who transported them to the gym. The Vermont Tent Company helped with the table rental. Special thanks go to Kate Elvin and Chris Marye who traveled from Colorado to help with the sale.
In honor of 50 years of book selling, the Friends raffled a gift certificate to Flying Pig Book Store and raised over $200 for the Shelburne Food Shelf.
Finally, we want to thank Library Director Lara Keenan and the Pierson Library staff for all their support and good humor in the midst of the annual book sale chaos.
We will resume collecting books in November.
Pat Elvin, Friends of the Pierson Library
