Sen. Bernie Sanders and Gov. Peter Shumlin will be hosting four Get Out the Vote events this weekend across Vermont in an effort to mobilize voter turnout for the November 4, 2014 election. One of those events happens to be at Champlain Valley Union (CVU) High School in Hinesburg on Sunday, Oct. 26.
There will be a free brunch at 10:00am, and the event starts at 10:30am.
Sanders said: “This is an enormously important election for Vermont and the nation. We need a large voter turnout so that we can elect candidates who represent working families, and not just the 1%.”
Topics that will be discussed include: the need to create decent paying jobs in Vermont and America; transforming our energy system and reversing climate change; health care for all; protecting social security, Medicare and Medicaid; college affordability.
The events are free and open to the public, with food provided.
