Update on Sewer Service Area Study

Each week, Town Manager Joe Colangelo writes detailed reports regarding the activities of Shelburne’s municipal bodies. Below is an excerpt from this week’s report, published on Oct. 24. Last week, The Shelburne News published an article written by Heather McKim detailing actions taken by the Selectboard in their Oct. 14 meeting. Below, Colangelo provides an overview of the actions taken relating to the development of the Sewer Service Area Study.
“During a Special Selectboard meeting this past Tuesday, the Selectboard interviewed the consultant team of Crane & Associates and Fregonese & Associates. Upon the conclusion of the interview the Selectboard passed a unanimous motion endorsing the consultant team for the project. Since this project will receive most of its funding through the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC), with a small local match, the CCRPC needs to approve the contract before the project can move forward. Per our original Request for Proposal (RFP), the next step in the process, once a contract is finalized between the consultant team and CCRPC, is for a public meeting between the consultant team and the Town of Shelburne. More information will be made available about the timing and purpose of this public meeting in the near future. The meeting will take place sometime this January. The project is slated to be completed on or before July 1, 2015.”
