Wilbur R. Branthoover
– Fairport Harbor, Ohio
W.R. “Bill” Branthoover, 87, of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, passed away on Oct. 25, 2014, at his residence. He was born May 6, 1927, in West Newton, Pa. to the late Harry and Clara Branthoover. He served in the US Navy during W.W.II. Bill was the principal of Fairport Harbor High School for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He was a graduate of Denison University and received his Master’s in Guidance from Columbia University. He was a member of the First Church Congregational in Painesville, Ohio, Sons of the American Revolution, Colonial War Veterans, Fairport Library Board, and the Montgomery Historical Society. Bill was active in Masonic organizations; he was a 50 year member and Past Master of Temple Lodge #28 F&A.M., member of Painesville Chapter #46 R.A.M., Painesville Council 104 R&S.M., Eagle Commandery #29, and Lake Erie Consistory Valley of Cleveland. Among Bill’s survivors is a daughter, Christine (Alan) Schillhammer of Shelburne and grandchildren, Kimberley and Daniel Schillhammer, Memorials may be made to the Montgomery Historical Society, PO Box 47, Montgomery, VT 05470.
