Redhawks extends winning streak to 51

In a rematch of last year’s D-I state final, Champlain Valley pulled away from Rice in the fourth quarter, thanks to Sadie Otley, for a 47-35 victory Friday night in girls high school basketball action in South Burlington. Otley contributed 13 points after sitting much of the first half with two fouls, and Laurel Jaunich added 14 and nine rebounds to extend the Redhawks’ winning streak to 51 games. Caitlin Grasso had four steals while Annabella Pugliese added 11 rebounds and five blocks for the 4-0 Redhawks.

Boys basketball team continues skid

Mount Mansfield grabbed a 57-40 win over Champlain Valley in boys high school basketball action Thursday, Dec. 18. Nick Lynn, Jed Morris, and Chris Reiss had eight points apiece for the 0-4 Redhawks.

CVU gymnasts team rolls over Milton

The CVU gymnastics team defeated Milton 128.5 to 104.2 on Wednesday, Dec. 17. The results are as follows: Vault: 1. Emma Lieberman, CVU 8.5; 2. Jessie Johnson, Jam Giubardo, CVU 8.3.Bars: 1. Raiders edge Redhawks

The Rutland High School boys hockey team defeated Champlain Valley 2-1 in high school boys hockey action on Saturday, Dec. 20 in Rutland.
