If Feb. 14 and the associated romantic gestures send you into a tailspin, fear not. Shopping for Valentine’s Day gifts has never been easier thanks to several Shelburne business owners who have created special offers perfect for your loved one.
No strangers to romance, Matthew and Bri Taylor of Matthew Taylor Designs partnered with two Shelburne businesses to create a special gift package for the February holiday. The package features a one-of-a-kind, custom handmade sterling silver or 14k yellow gold heart necklace by Matthew, bundled with a 10-piece chocolate truffle assortment from Shelburne Country Store and a choice of a gerbera daisy or a new rose varietal called High Intenze in a magnificent fiery orange from In Full Bloom. For sterling silver, the price of the package is $195, for14k gold the gift is $915.
“The promotion was really a joint idea,” Bri offered. “Matthew had suggested running a special for the Valentine’s holiday and since we have such great fellow businesses right at our fingertips here in Shelburne, it made sense to include them.”
Customers can make the package their own. “The customer can choose if they want all three gifts or the necklace alone. Either way we will have the bundles ready for pickup at Matthew’s shop,” Bri noted. To reserve your gift package, call 985-3190.
There’s a wine for that
And equally pleasing alternative to unique jewelry is a tasteful and tantalizing tastebud experience. This Valentine’s Day Shelburne Vineyards will provide an elegant and romantic four-course prix fixe wine-pairing dinner in their softly lit cherry wood loft. Seating begins at 7pm with a cash bar and a complimentary cheese pairing at 6:30pm. As if the luxurious menu crafted by the chefs of Lazy Farmer wasn’t enough, Art Hertua and Stephen Morabito will be on hand to sooth the ear with live jazz.
The Lazy Farmer’s French inspired menu pairs each course with a Shelburne Vineyard wine. Dinner will begin with a Salade Lyonnaise, followed by a second course of Moules Provencal. For the entrée, guests will have the choice of Coq au Vin or a vegetarian Portobello au Vin. Dinner concludes with a rich, dark chocolate mousse served with fresh fruit. At the presentation of each course, enjoy a few words from Shelburne Vineyard owner Ken Albert regarding the complementary attributes of the wine pairing.
Dinner seating is limited and reservations are required. Tickets are $100 per person, gratuity not included. To reserve a table call the vineyard at (802) 985-8222. For more information about the menu visit www.shelburnevineyard.com or Shelburne Vineyard on Facebook.
