The Shelburne Community School (SCS) Board will host a community forum on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 7pm for all interested citizens to learn about and discuss the specifics of the $11.2 million bond (Article VI) on the March 3 ballot. The evening will begin with a presentation by members of the facilities committee that proposed the renovation project. Committee members will explain the extensive yearlong review of the maintenance and educational needs of the 50-year-old building, the five proposals that came out of that review, and the subsequent decision to pursue the specific work outlined for the project funded by the bond.
Following the presentation there will be a question and answer period, as well as an opportunity for a short tour to see other areas of the building that are included in the renovation proposal. The forum will be held in the E wing of the school where proposed renovation would take place, allowing everyone to see firsthand the needs the board hopes to address.
Attendees are asked to park near the gymnasium, accessible by turning into the school off Harbor Road and going through the front circle. There will be signs to direct everyone to the meeting location from that back door by the gym and the cafeteria. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school at (802) 985-3331, or visit SCS Building our Future on Facebook.
