Shelburne voters will gather on Monday evening, March 2 beginning at 7:30pm in the Shelburne Community School’s (SCS) gymnasium to discuss town and school business, led by Town Moderator Tom Little. First on the meeting agenda is the presentation of the proposed Town Budget by the Selectboard followed by an outline of the School Budget by the Shelburne Community School Board.
Dinner at 5:30pm, discussions follow
The annual Town Meeting dinner will take place in the SCS cafeteria, which is directly across the hall from the SCS gymnasium. This year, a chicken pot pie dinner with strawberry salad and cinnamon crisps will be catered by SCS Food Service beginning at 5:30pm. The cost is $6 per person, and $4 for children under 12. Shelburne’s representatives, Joan Lenes and Kate Webb, will also be on hand for a legislative update, as will Senator Diane Snelling. Coffee and dessert will be available for purchase ($2 per person) for those who prefer to attend just the legislative update, beginning at 6pm.
Voting will take place at the gymnasium at the Town Center on Tuesday, March 3 from 7am to 7pm. There are no local contested races.
Bring your cans to the polls
There will be an opportunity for folks to bring cans and non-perishable foods to the Town Hall gym when they come to vote on Tuesday as in years past. All items collected will go to the Shelburne Food Shelf. There will also be an opportunity to make cash donations to help neighbors in need to stay warm this winter.
The Town Report and proposed budget are on the town website www.shelburnevt.org.
