Community forum on Shelburne’s children and families March 19

Join the Shelburne Social Services Committee (SSSC) in a panel presentation and discussion of recent trends that affect children on Thursday, March 19 from 7-8:30pm at the Shelburne Town Center in Meeting Room 1. As a community we are aware that broader changes in society impact Shelburne and its citizens. Whether it is economic shifts, greater diversity, housing challenges, healthcare system changes–all these have a profound impact on the most vulnerable in our communities–the children.

Staff from the Shelburne Community School, Shelburne Police Department, and the SSSC will comprise the panel and will address challenges in supporting families and children. Representatives of social service agencies and faith communities that serve Shelburne are invited to add their perspectives. All members of the community have distinct perspectives to offer, and are encouraged to join in a dialogue about how to meet challenges and take advantage of opportunities.

The Town offices are located at 5420 Shelburne Road in Shelburne. Disability accommodations provided upon request; contact the Town of Shelburne at (802) 985-5110. For more information on the forum contact David Cranmer, Social Services Committee Chair at 985-3166.
