Ronald E. Trudo, 77, passed away on April 18, 2015, in the UVM Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 21, 1937, in Troy, N.Y., the son of the late Charles and Helen (Bombard) Trudo. Ron graduated from Burlington High School, then served in the Vermont Air National Guard. He was employed by the Burlington Free Press. Later, Ron owned and operated the Center Variety Store in Essex Center, then worked as a repairman at the House of Sewing. Ron was a founding member of the Essex Town Fire Department, achieving the rank of first captain. He also was a Justice of the Peace. “Ronnie” enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, fishing, hunting, staying at the Maine coast, and time at his camp. He often visited casinos with his wife, “Sandy.” Ron loved being a grandpa, earning the name “Bampie.” He and Sandra helped with their grandchildren’s care, which pleased him immensely. Among Ron’s survivors is a son, John E. Trudo and wife, Donna, of Shelburne. Many thanks to family and visitors, including his Cardiac Rehab Family, for their love and support in Ron’s last days. Dad, you will certainly be missed. Memorial contributions in Ron’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Vermont Chapter, 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
