Shelburne Country Store owners Steve and Deb Mayfield announce the acquisition of The Christmas Loft in Shelburne on Monday, May 4. Based in Jay, Vt., The Christmas Loft is a privately held corporation that operates two additional retail locations both in New Hampshire: one in North Woodstock and one in North Conway. The Mayfield’s purchase includes only the Shelburne location. The Christmas Loft will continue to operate the remaining New Hampshire locations as well as their office and warehouse in Jay independently.

The Shelburne location opened in 1987 in the Shelburne Village (right next to the Shelburne Country Store) and moved into the current 11,000 square foot location in 1996. It houses an almost full size replica of the Village of Shelburne as it appears at Christmas time (complete with an almost full size Shelburne Country Store). The uniqueness of the Christmas Loft concept makes it a destination for locals and tourists alike and there are no immediate plans to change that.

By welcoming the Shelburne Christmas Loft’s employees and customers into the Shelburne Country Store family, the combined stores will be able to offer a far better experience at both locations by combining the knowledge that each brings to the table as well as a much bigger variety of holiday and seasonal merchandise.

The new location will be officially named the Country Christmas Loft. Visit them online at www.CountryChristmasLoft.com.
