Ray C. Magee, 84, passed away in the early morning of Friday, May 15, 2015. Ray was born March 1, 1931, in Burlington, the son of Merle Alexander and Howard Magee. He lived in Charlotte, South Burlington, and Shelburne. Ray retired from the South Burlington Police Department as a Captain, and owned and operated the Shelburne Airport along with his wife, Barbara. He acquired many friends over the 37 years in operation of the airport. He was an accomplished pilot and aircraft mechanic. Ray also served in the Naval Reserves. He is survived by his wife, Barb, of 47 years; two daughters, Debra Magee Lewis and husband, Tom, of St. Albans, and Laura Magee of Quincy, Mass.; grandchildren, Troy and wife, Sopath, Michelle, Heather, and Mike; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ariana, Stephen, Teeghan, and Gabriella; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Merle Alexander and Howard Magee; brothers, Bill, Curt, and Clayt; and sister, Betty Parah. Funeral services will be private.
