“Seasons in a Vermont Vineyard: The Shelburne Vineyard Cookbook” authored and independently published by Lisa Cassell-Arms, with photographs by Burlington photographer David Seaver, received a bronze 2015 regional Independent Publisher Book Award for best new, non-fiction in the northeast. The Independent Publisher Book Awards, also known as the IPPY Awards, honors the year’s best titles within the important and growing world of independent publishing.

The book takes the reader on a delicious journey through the seasons in a Vermont vineyard using food and wine pairings, recipes, bold flavors and sumptuous photographs that capture the beauty and romance of a lush, northern vineyard, as well as offering a striking photo essay of what goes into the making of award-winning wines in Vermont’s cold climate.

“I wanted above all to share good food and good wine, and to celebrate the spirit of this wonderful Vermont vineyard and the talented and dedicated people who are devoted to what they do – producing excellent wines in a sustainable manner,” Cassell-Arms said.

Cassell-Arms, a Shelburne resident and employee of Shelburne Vineyard since 2008, has been cooking for friends and family for years. With a career background in marketing and design, she expanded her passion for food, wine, and cooking with experience in catering and recipe development with a variety of cooking education throughout. The book was her first publication.
