As a grandparent of two children currently enrolled at Shelburne Community School (and a Shelburne taxpayer), I want to express my strong support of the upcoming school bonds. I pick up the kids three days a week and have had an opportunity to spend a good deal of time inside the school buildings at various meetings. We love the job that the faculty and administration are doing to provide an exceptional learning experience for our kids. But the facility is in dire need of help. The condition of the roof is deplorable. The D and E wings are relics of an out-of-date learning environment, never mind the dilapidated and drafty single-pane windows which desperately need replacement. We must remember that these kids are the future. They deserve better learning conditions. Please vote in favor of both school bonds on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
