Who wants to be part of a great sport, and learn strength, balance, speed, agility, team work and how to pull the wrestling moves? One of the first Olympic sports is open to all schools in the CSSU district (Williston, Shelburne, St George, Hinesburg and Charlotte).
Meet new friends and build new bonds. We have had 35 state champs and 38 runners-up in our 17-year history. Come be part of our 18th year. We compete in local tournaments against other teams on Saturdays. There will be some dual meets scheduled for evenings, with a state finals tournament at the end of the season.
We practice three evenings a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 6:15pm to 7:45pm at the Hinesburg Community School in the cafeteria.
Seventh and eighth grade sign-ups begin Nov. 10 from 6:15pm to 7:50pm in the cafeteria at Hinesburg Community School on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Kindergarten through sixth graders can sign up Nov. 10, but their season begins in January.
Coaches have more than 25 years of experience and championships on the mat. The club received the 2005 Connecting Youth “Awe Shucks” award in the CSSU school district, and the 2006 and 2015 Best Float and 2011 and 2015 Team Sportsmanship Award. The club has served since 2008 in the CVU graduation challenge requirement and they come in and work with the youth level.
This program is free of charge and all gear is provided. Jackets with the wrestler’s name on it is optional for $15.
