Mater Christi School held a special variety show for the students’ pastors and the Sisters of Mercy on Feb. 2 as part of its Catholic Schools Week celebrations. The entire student body was present for the show.

There were 14 acts, including comedy routines, piano, violin and guitar solos, ballet performances, an Acapella group song, and even an act by the “Rockettes.” The most popular performance, at least for the youngest audience members, was probably that of the Mater Christi School Drum Line which began the afternoon’s entertainment.

Audience members were clearly impressed with the talent shown by these students and expressed their gratitude for being given the opportunity to come to an event where they could just relax and enjoy the proceedings.

Catholic Schools Week, sponsored by the National Catholic Education Association, is a week set aside annually to celebrate Catholic Schools throughout the United States.
