Green Up around town

The 2016 winning Green Up Day poster design by Charlotte Brace of Montpelier High School!

It’s that time of year when Vermonters all over the state pick up trash along the roadways. Shelburne residents can participate on May 7 from 7:00am to 2:30pm.

If you’d like to sign up for a particular stretch of road, you can contact organizers and sign up online on their google docs page.

Free Green Up bags are available at the Town Clerk’s office, the Pierson Library and at the Shelburne Supermarket. Please leave filled bags in the town’s dump truck, which will be parked at the highway department on Turtle Lane from 7:00am to 2:30pm. Turtle Lane is off Harbor Road, across from the Shelburne Community School. Please DO NOT leave filled bags along the roadways. Feel free to contact Alice Lissarrague at 777-9199 or alice.lissarrague6@gmail.com for more information.

Green Up Vermont is celebrating its 46th year. In fact, Green Up Vermont is such a valued statewide tradition, that it is one of only three other funds where you can donate any amount you choose on your Vermont income tax return.
