Civil War reenactment last weekend

The Champlain Valley Historical Reenactors, Vermont’s Civil War living history group, hosted the battle of Shelburne Crossing last weekend in Shelburne. The three-day event featured a field day for over 400 area school children which showcased a soldier’s life during the US Civil War. The weekend also featured military battles between the Confederate and Union troops. The units that comprised the reenactors include the 1st Vermont Volunteer Calvary-Co.K, 2nd Vermont Volunteer Infantry – Co. A, 2nd Mississippi (Magnolia Rifles), The Civil War Medical Coalition, Grays & Blues of Montreal and the Green Mountain Citizens.
