On Aug. 15, 122 boys (and one rock star girl) descended on Palmer’s Field in Hinesburg to mark the start of the Buccaneers’ Youth Football season. Over the last two weeks, players from 2nd to 8th grade learned about safety, teamwork, play formations, and personal discipline.

At the end of their pre-season training, 5/6 Coach Jason Galipeau suggested a special treat for the kids, a visit from Mr. Ding-a-Ling. Then, within minutes of announcing the truck was coming, an anonymous donor surprised everyone by saying that they wanted to pay for the ice cream for the whole team and their coaches! The kids were simply ecstatic when the truck pulled into the field.

The Buccs have their first home game at Palmer’s Field this Saturday, Sept.3. To find out more about the Buccaneers’ program and the CVU / Buccs Annual Charity Golf tournament, please go to: www.cssubuccaneers.org.
