Young Rembrandts Class: Tuesday, Oct. 25 through Dec. 6 (no class 11/22), 2:05-3:05pm. Get ready for winter as we draw dream catchers, optical hand illusions, and a “sweet” drawing of a ginger bread house (almost good enough to eat.). $80, held at the Shelburne Community School. Grades K-5.

After School Fitness Program: Improve general conditioning including a focus on: core, strength, agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. Tuesdays, 2:10-3:10pm and Thursdays from 3:10-4:10pm. Session 1: Oct. 18-Nov. 10 and Session 2: Nov. 15-Dec. 15 (no classes week of Thanksgiving). $100/session at Shelburne Field House with instructors Nick Mead and Rayne Herzog. Grades K-5.

Shotokan Karate: For adults and kids ages 8 and up. Improve your fitness level, challenge yourself and have fun. Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, $40 per session. Session 1) Oct. 20 – Dec. 15; session 2) Jan. 5 – Feb. 23, 2017. Both sessions will be held in the Shelburne Town Gym with instructor Brandon Hier.

Self Defense Course: For Women by Women: Level I course: Monday, Oct. 17, 6-8:15pm. This two-hour introductory Level I women’s self-defense program includes a focus on recognizing pre-assault behavior, ways to deter or avoid an attack before it becomes physical, how predators think and what they look for in their victims, decision-making around lifestyle choices that minimize vulnerability yet maintain personal freedoms, and how to find the inner strength to fight back. Level II course: Monday, Oct. 24, 6-8:15pm. Level II takes this program one step further, allowing for a brief review, practice of acquired strikes, and instruction of additional basic self-defense techniques to deal with a variety of situations and potential attacks. The focus will be on hands-on self-defense skills, techniques and strategies. Level I is a prerequisite for this class. $35 per course, Shelburne Town Gym. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Gentle Yoga Class: Join Kay Boyce, Certified Yoga Instructor, for this Gentle Yoga Class, with attention to good alignment, stretches, and simple assists. Bring your own yoga mat and a sense of playfulness. Classes will run on Thursdays, 9-10am from Oct. 27 to Dec. 8 (no class on Nov. 24) for $55 / session. Classes held in Shelburne Town Hall. Registration deadline is Oct. 24.
