Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treating, Sunday Oct. 30: The festivities will start with the Annual Halloween Parade presented by Charlotte-Shelburne Rotary. Floats will line up at Shopping Park at 12:45pm. The parade will begin on Falls Road at 2pm. To register a float in the parade, contact Dave Rice at email@example.com or 802-985-5201. After the Parade, join us in the Town Gym for trick-or-treating, games and a Costume Contest from 2:30 to 4pm. We will also be accepting donations for the Food Shelf. From 2:30 to 4:30pm. The Fire Station will have music and free food.
Early Morning Boot Camp: As a group you will work towards supporting and being supported to obtain your fitness goals. Each workout is a mix of cardio and strength training, using your own body weight as well as some small equipment. All levels of fitness are welcome. Class is held on *Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7am, starting Nov. 2-Nov. 4 (*Please Note: The first week this class with be held Wednesday (11/02) and Friday (11/4), then returns to the Monday-Wednesday format for the rest of the session). Class costs $100 and will be held in the Shelburne Town Gym with Kristin Hartley.
Youth Basketball: This popular recreational program emphasizes the basics of the sport, along with good teamwork and sportsmanship. This is a non-competitive league with one scheduled practice a week and games on Saturdays. The program is open to youth in grades one through eight. Grades one and two are co-ed, and will practice and scrimmage on Saturday mornings. Grades three through eight have separate girls and boys teams. Practices will begin in December, and regular practices and games will start the first week of January and continue up until February Break. Teams will practice one night a week and play a game on Saturdays. Grades three-eight will compete against other towns’ recreational teams from the Champlain Valley Recreation Association. Games will be played both in Shelburne and out of town. Registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 18. Registration fee is $40 (includes uniform t-shirt to keep). Volunteer coaches are always needed. Bolton Valley After School Program: Registration is now open for seventh- and eighth-graders. On Tues., Nov. 15, any remaining spots will open for fifth- and sixth-graders. Online registration is available for the Bolton program this year. Registrations will also be accepted using the hard copy form. Be sure to use the Bolton registration form only. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. No registrations or changes will be accepted after the registration deadline of Friday, Jan. 6, 2017. However, the program may fill well before the deadline, so don’t wait to sign up. No refunds will be given after the registration deadline.
