Youth Basketball: This is a non-competitive league with one scheduled practice a week and games on Saturdays. The program is open to youth in grades 1-8. Grades 1-2 are co-ed, and will practice and scrimmage on Saturday mornings. Grades 3-8 have separate girls and boys teams. Practices will begin in Dec., regular practices and games will start the first week of Jan. and continue up until Feb. break. Participants will practice one night a week and play a game on Saturdays. Grades 3-8 will compete against other towns’ recreational teams from the Champlain Valley Recreation Association. Games will be played both in Shelburne and out of town. Registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 18. Registration fee is $40. Please contact the recreation office if you’re interested in volunteering.

Bolton Valley After School Program: Registration is now open for fifth and sixth graders. Online registration is available for the Bolton program this year.Registrations will also be accepted using the hard copy form. Be sure to use the Bolton registration form only. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. No registrations or changes will be accepted after the registration deadline of Friday, Jan. 6, 2017. See our website for program dates and fees.

After School Fitness Program: Kids in grades 5-8 can join us right after school to improve general conditioning, including a focus on core, strength, agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. Participants of any fitness ability are welcome to join as workouts are adjusted to the individual fitness level in a non-competitive environment. This class will be held on Tuesdays from 2:10 to 3:10pm and Thursdays, 3:10 to 4:10pm from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15 (no classes week of Thanksgiving) for $100/session at the Shelburne Field House with instructors Nick Mead and Rayne Herzog.

Early Morning Boot Camp: Each workout is a mix of cardio and strength training, using your own body weight as well as some small equipment. All levels of fitness are welcome! The next session will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7am, Dec. 5-21, Jan. 2 though Jan. 18 (includes a break over the holidays) for $100 in the Shelburne Town Gym with instructor Kristin Hartley.

Snowmobile Safety Course: This six-hour course provides the opportunity to earn the certification necessary to legally operate on Vermont’s Statewide Snowmobile Trails System. Participants must be present for all classes to be eligible for certification. Vt. state law requires that all Vt. snowmobile operators born after July 1, 1983, who are 12 years of age or older, must take and pass a state-approved snowmobile safety course. The course will be held in Williston, but you can register through Shelburne Recreation Dept. Class dates are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Dec. 6, 7, and 8 from 6 to 8pm for ages 12 and up. The class will be held at the Williston Central School for a $15 fee. Pre-registration is required with the registration deadline of Nov. 29!
