CVU field hockey players named to All-Star team

The Metro Division field hockey coaches have released their annual All-Star team, and a host of Champlain Valley players are on the list.

Senior defenseman Stasha Rup, junior midfielder Bella Rieley, and junior forward Lydia Maitland from Charlotte were named to the first team. It is the second first-team selection for both Maitland and Rup.

Seniors Nicole Anderson and Kelsey Saia were both named to the Metro second team. It is the first appearance on the all-star team for Anderson, a midfielder/defenseman, and it is the second appearance for Saia, a forward, who was an honorable mention last season.

Nora Weisman-Rowell, a sophomore defender, and Nathalie Paquette, a junior midfielder, both earned honorable mentions.

Essex’s Jenna Puleo and South Burlington’s Melissa Valgoi were named Co-Players of the Year for the division, while Rebel coach Anjie Soucy took home Coach of the Year honors.
