Boys basketball
Champlain Valley 57, St. Johnsbury 52: The Champlain Valley boys basketball team continued their hot play with a win over visiting St. Johnsbury on Monday night.

Four players reached double figures for the Redhawks (15-1), who have won 13 straight, with George Davis leading the way with 12 points. Colin Monsey (11 points), Josh Bliss (10 points)  and Walker Storey (10 points) also had strong games offensively for CVU.

On Thursday night, Champlain Valley topped host Essex 64-50 behind a game-high 18 points from Bliss. Storey added 11 points and Matt Spear chipped in with eight points as part of an offensive effort that saw 11 CVU players score.

Girls basketball
Champlain Valley 45, South Burlington 34: The Champlain Valley girls basketball team continued a streak of their own, beating visiting South Burlington to win their fifth game in a row.

Abby Thut had 13 points for the Redhawks (12-2), who jumped out to a 15-2 advantage after the first quarter. Lindsey Albertelli added 11 points.

Allie Bosley led the Rebels with 12 points.

Boys hockey
Champlain Valley 2, Middlebury 1: Champlain Valley jumped out to a two-goal lead through two periods and held off host Middlebury to earn the win.

Max Akey and Joe Parento each tallied for the Redhawks (8-6-2), while Mac Miller and Charlie Averill each had an assist. Ty Parker stopped 13 shots to earn the win in goal.

Ziven McCarty scored for the Tigers (8-6-2), and Doug Delorenzo made 21 saves.

Girls hockey
BFA-St. Albans 3, Champlain Valley-Mount Mansfield 2: Peyton Dukas led the offensive effort for host BFA-St. Albans in a win over the Champlain Valley-Mount Mansfield co-op girls hockey team on Saturday.

Dukas had two goals and an assist for the Comets (10-6), while Linsey Larrow had an assist and Elizabeth Dukas also scored.

Kiley McClure and Jackie Ryan each tallied once for the CougarHawks (6-1), and Joanna Wright stopped 28 shots.
