The Shelburne Community School Board last Tuesday discussed and set the final day of this school year for students and teachers.
The last day for students is June 16, with eighth-grade graduation set for June 15. The final day for teachers is June 22. The State of Vermont mandates that students attend a minimum of 175 school days during the academic year, according to the state Department of Education.
The board also decided to continue to extend early-release days for students. Originally, they were scheduled to end on May 23, but will now include May 30, June 6, and June 13. School officials plan on communicating with parents and guardians regarding the continuation of the early-release day schedule. Shelburne Community School Co-Principal Pati Beaumont said that discussion is helpful for families.
“They all have their routine down,” said Beaumont.
