Community meeting addresses next phase of Form Based Zoning

On May 11, the Planning Commission is having a community meeting focused on Phase II of Form Based Zoning. The meeting, which is being described as a community workshop, will be the major opportunity for residents to offer feedback on this iteration.

“The Planning Commission’s hoping that this second round of edits will make this even more attractive to people who live in the area or own property in the area,” Director of Planning & Zoning Dean Pierce said.

At the workshop on May 11, the room will be set up with four tables with Planning Commissioners, attendees, consultants and staff divided between them. After the consultants make an opening presentation, the groups will focus on a particular policy-based issue.

The four groups will be focused on: a) building height b) parallel street c) stormwater and d) architectural design and building materials standards. With each of these, participants will look at the current requirements and explore if modifications are needed.

The meeting is at 7pm in the Town Offices Conference Room. Residents and those who own or develop property in the area are strongly encouraged to attend.
