The Shelburne Food Shelf wishes to thank everyone who helped make our summer food program – Food That’s in When School is Out – possible. With your support we were able to provide the makings of 3940 meals to kids who might otherwise not have access to this food when Shelburne Community School is closed for the summer. Most importantly, we wish to thank the community – your donations made it possible to launch this program this summer.
In particular we would like to thank: 1) The administration and staff of SCS who did a marvelous job of providing the needed storage and refrigeration space, a place to come to pick up food, and getting families registered for the program. 2) The wonderful custodial staff at SCS who managed to make each week successful despite working around the many construction projects. 3) The volunteers who always showed up with a positive attitude and helped carry bags while the kids filled them. 4) Members of our Steering Committee from the First Methodist Church of Shelburne, the Shelburne Charlotte Hinesburg Rotary Club, St. Catherine’s, the Town Social Services Committee, Trinity Episcopal, and The Zen Center 5) Most importantly, the families themselves, who came regularly to the school for pickups and never complained about the weather, our changing location, etc.
We are grateful for your support.
