Gov. Phil Scott has appointed Republican Chris Mattos to represent Milton in the Vermont House of Representatives.
Mattos will serve alongside House Minority Leader Don Turner, R-Milton. Mattos succeeds Rep. Ron Hubert, who resigned.
Mattos is a senior financial specialist at the University of Vermont Medical Center and a real estate agent at Century 21 Jack Associates. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2011 from the University of Vermont.
Mattos said he is looking forward to serving in the House.
“As a real estate agent, I have witnessed firsthand the difficulty for people to obtain a house at a price they can afford, which is fundamental to our quality of life. I look forward to working on economic development and other issues in Montpelier this winter,” he said.
