Jerry Esposito

It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Esposito announces his passing, after a valiantly fought battle with cancer, on Thursday, Aug. 31. Jerry had just turned 65 years old.

Jerry will be lovingly and forever remembered by Karen, his wife, friend, and partner of nearly 30 years, his son and best pal Andrew, both of Shelburne. Jerry will also be affectionately remembered by his siblings Betsy Esposito of State College, Pa.; John Esposito and family of Nashville, Tenn.; and Patrick Esposito of Apollo, Pa.; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Proud to have been born in Punxsutawney, Pa., Jerry grew up and made lifelong friends in the town of Indiana, Pa. After earning his bachelor of science in business administration from Indiana University in Pennsylvania, Jerry spent 10 years working in human resources for Sears, Roebuck & Co., ultimately as the company’s director of human resources, headquartered in the Sears Tower in Chicago. He spent the next 10 years as vice president and director of operations at Christmas Tree Shops, a division of Bed, Bath & Beyond, leading operations, merchandising and new store development. In February 2010, Jerry joined Bob’s Discount Furniture and served as vice president of human resource planning and development since 2013. Jerry led the corporate human resources functions, guiding the company’s planning and policies of the Bob’s team.

Jerry was passionate about his career, his family, and his many good friends. He loved to travel and had a special affinity for the Colorado Rockies and Hawaii. He was a car enthusiast, an interest he shared with his son Andrew. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends, and the occasional vacation.

Jerry’s family sincerely appreciates all of the kindness, goodwill and support from friends, colleagues, and family during his 16-month battle with cancer. A private memorial celebration service will be held in honor of Jerry at a later date.
