Shelburne police last week charged two drivers in separate incidents where speeds of 70 miles per hour or more were recorded on roads with 35 mph limits.
Michael White, age 22, of Waltham, was charged with negligent operation after police say they stopped him Oct. 18 at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Bostwick Road. According to police.
White was traveling at 78 mph, police said, in a 35-mph zone, police said.
In a separate incident Oct. 19, Matthew Trueheart, age 29, of North Ferrisburg, also was charged with negligent operation, police said, after he was clocked driving 70 mph on Spear Street.
That happened at approximately 8:11 a.m. when an officer driving on Spear near Kwiniaska Golf Course spotted Trueheart and recorded his speed, police said.
Both drivers were cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division to answer to the charges, according to police.
