New Library Project After presenting project details to the 4th and 5th graders at Shelburne Community School a few weeks ago, we ended our democracy lesson with a mock bond vote. The students took this opportunity very seriously, asked some really great questions, waited their turn and gave other voters privacy. They used a real ballot booth to vote and everyone got an “I voted” sticker! Poll results: 109 yes and 38 no votes. Don’t forget to cast your own ballot on the bond measure on Tuesday.
Harry Potter Trivia Join us on Friday at 3:30 p.m. for our Harry Potter Trivia contest. Players will be sorted into houses and get to test their knowledge of all things Harry Potter as a team. Excellent snacks and prizes to be had at this fun event. All ages welcome. Call 985-5124 to register.

Knitting for peace Bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks to the library on Monday at 1 p.m. to join other fiber artists in making items to be sent around the world for those in need. Patterns and some yarn available, as well as instructors and moral support!
Identity theft Learn how to protect yourself. Come to the library on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. for a presentation on how to prevent and/or deal with identity theft. Jim Naugler of Citizens Bank and a representative of the Shelburne Police Department will bring you up-to-date on the latest identity theft scams and how to avoid them and inform you about what to do if you become a victim.
Genealogy help with John Kelley Library volunteer John Kelley meets individually with people already familiar with genealogy to share and explore sources & tips to enable them to take the next step in their genealogical search.
