Throughout December, Frog Hollow Vermont State Craft Center in Burlington will host a number of artisan demonstrations and visits starting with two this Saturday.

Watercolorist Annelein Beukenkamp will demonstrate her watercolor technique from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., working on various images that will include poultry, winter birds, and florals. Her watercolors have been described as happy, colorful, loose, and joyful.

From 3 to 7 p.m., Sherry Corbin from Across the Grain Studio in South Hero will be hand-building and sculpting her Raku clay animals, fish, and birds.

Beukenkamp is a signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society who spent her childhood in the Netherlands, to which she owes her appreciation for flowers, many varieties of which are now depicted in her work.

Corbin graduated from University of Vermont in 1984 with a degree in geography and went into the family business insulating wire. She now serves as chief operating officer at Phoenix Wire Inc. and sole proprietor of Across the Grain Pottery Studio.

Other demonstrations in December include:

  •  Dec. 8, noon to 8 p.m.: Jeweler Jon Black discusses his process and technique.
  • Dec. 9, noon to 3 p.m.: Legendary Vermont painter Woody Jackson will be signing books and answering questions in the gallery.
  • Dec. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m.: Farmer, photographer, and children’s book author John Churchman will be in the gallery with his canine companions Maisie and Laddie signing books and talking with visitors.
  • Every day, Dec. 14-24 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., Burlington print artist and satirist dug Nap will be on hand to meet visitors and sign prints.

The demonstrations are open to the public at the non-profit Frog Hollow gallery at 85 Church St. Information: froghollow.org.
