Tonight The Pierson Library is hosting members of the Shelburne Business & Professional Association from 6 to 8 p.m. Even if you have not yet joined, you will be welcome. Refreshments will be served. The main topic of discussion will be the positive impact the new library will have on the Shelburne business community. Come share your thoughts on how we might better integrate business needs into the library mission and design.

Tonight, Books on Tap Our book club for men will meet at La Villa at 7:30 pm to discuss “My Absolute Darling” by Gabriel Tallent. Feel free to join them for books & brews.

Beanie Boo Club Our younger patrons, ages 4-10, are invited to join us on Friday, Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m. for an afternoon of Beanie Boo themed crafts, snacks, and games. Register in advance.

Young Writers Workshop Aspiring authors ages 11 and up are invited to meet over breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10:30 a.m. to take part in creative writing exercises. Sharing your work is encouraged but not required

Family Game Club Saturday, Dec. 9 at 1:30 p.m. Spend a cozy afternoon playing board games with friends and neighbors. Try out new games for all ages and abilities from around the world or play an old favorite.

Story time with Patrice Join Patrice every Monday morning in December (except Christmas Day) at 10:30 a.m. as she reads aloud stories that even our youngest patron will enjoy.

Community input on interior library design What do you envision – or hope for – when you think about what the inside of our new library will look like? Share your ideas with us and the architects at a forum on Dec. 11 from 5:45 to 8 p.m. at the library.

Crafty Tuesday Join us on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. as we decorate tiles with Sharpie pens. Great holiday gift to put under a potted plant or a hot dish on your table. We supply all the materials; you supply the creativity.

1-on-1 Genealogy Help Volunteer John Kelley meets 1-on-1 with people already familiar with genealogy to share and explore sources and tips to enable them to take the next step in their genealogical search. Please call to make an appointment for any Wednesday afternoon in Dec. between 1 and 4 p.m.

Graham cracker gingerbread house We will build a mini gingerbread house and decorate it with delicious candies and treats on Wednesday, Dec.13 at 3:15 p.m. Lend a helping hand and have some fun in the process.

Musical story time with Inger Bring your little ones on Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for a delightful experience with Inger as she entertains them with songs and stories.

Movie afternoon Come after school for a showing of the holiday classic “The Polar Express” at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14. Popcorn will be served.

Maker Club Young techies and tinkerers age 11 and up will meet on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 3:30 p.m. to learn new skills ranging from programming to soldering. No experience necessary. Register in advance.

Knitting 4 Peace Bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks on Saturday, Dec.16 at 10 a.m. to join other fiber artists in making items to be sent around the world for those in need. Patterns and some yarn available, as well as instructors and moral support.

Thank You! Due to your generosity, our first annual Giving Tuesday campaign was a tremendous success. Every dollar donated that day and the week after was quadrupled! First, the library trustees matched each contribution to double the amount and then that was matched by the challenge grant. We great appreciate your support and commitment to the project.
