Shelburne Community School 7th grader and teacher on stage in Essex

The Essex Community Players production of “It’s a Wonderful Life, The Radio Play,” continues and concludes this weekend with Shelburne cast members on stage.

Shelburne Community School student Rae Kanarick plays the flirtatious young Violet Bick and other roles. She joins SCS 6th-8th grade teacher Carly Bennett, who plays the adult Violet, among other roles.

In this adaptation for the stage by Philip Grecian, the audience becomes the play’s “live studio audience,” providing a twist on the Frank Capra film classic.

“It’s a Wonderful Life, the Radio Play” runs for one more weekend with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Shows at Memorial Hall, 5 Towers Road in Essex. Tickets: $18; $16 for seniors, students, children;
