School budget process continues

Administrators and school board members in the Champlain Valley School District have begun the process for building the school budget for 2018-19 school year.

Feedback and meetings so far have sent a message that the community wants to keep a high caliber of education while finding cost-cutting efficiencies in the new unified school district, school officials said.

Additional budget meetings are scheduled for:

• Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. in the Hinesburg Community School Flex Space; topic will be operations and maintenance.

• Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Shelburne Community School Library to discuss revenues and taxes.

• Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Williston Central School Dining Room for the budget’s final approval.
