Champlain Valley Union High School’s business ethics class is hosting its 10th annual Family Formal, a friendly and fun dance that brings families together, on Sunday Jan. 14.
With a DJ, a photo booth, and dinner included, this is a good way families with young children can enjoy a night out together and raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
The CVU cafeteria will be decked out to the “starry night” theme. For those who would rather relax than dance, there is a silent auction, a special craft project for kids, and all children are sent home with a goody bag.
Children of all ages and their families are welcome; younger ones in grades kindergarten through second are encouraged to attend. The dance will be held in the CVU Cafeteria from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $15 adults, $5 per child. To order tickets, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The business class has a goal is to raise $3,500, all of which will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Business Ethics is a class at CVU that focuses on business ethics and social responsibility. A major part of the class is developing a sense of social responsibility in future businesspeople.
The class welcomes local businesses donations to help cover the cost of food and decorations and to supply door prizes. Food and door-prize donations can be arranged with a pick-up time. All businesses will be recognized the night of the event and in advertisements for the event.
Donation checks from organizations or individuals who cannot attend the dance but would like to help can be made payable to CVU and mailed to Tamie-Jo Dickinson, CVU High School, 369 CVU Road, Hinesburg, VT 05461.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont is a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children who attain life-threatening medical conditions who are between the ages of 2 to 18 years old.
