Community members recently assembled gift bags and snacks to distribute to families at Harbor Place, who combined have between 30 and 40 children. Volunteers from Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, the United Methodist Church, the Athletic Leadership Council at Champlain Valley Union High School, and the Flying Pig Bookstore filled 40 bags with warm hats and gloves, coloring and puzzle books, Play Doh and modeling clay, crayons, construction paper, journals, and decks of cards, as well as movie and bus passes for older children. The bookstore added a book for each child and the student group filled stockings with healthy snacks. Bags and stockings were delivered the week before Christmas.
