Two Shelburne community members recently were honored by the King Street Center. Philanthropist Lisa Steele is a long-time supporter of the youth center in Burlington, particularly its the Kids on the Ball tennis program.
Joan Furchgott and Brad Sourdiffe of Shelburne’s Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery and their daughter, Jozie Furchgott Sourdiffe were also recognized for the organization Friends For A Dog Foundation. This non-profit celebrates the memory and legacy of Andy Williams, a DJ and artist who passed away from leukemia several years ago by providing kids with programs including skateboarding instruction, graffiti art, hip hop dance, break dance, screen printing, and numerous other art and music opportunities.
King Street Center provides care, enrichment, academic support, and recreation for children and youth age 18 months through high school.
