State investigators recently determined that a package turned into police as “suspicious” was nothing dangerous after all.
Shelburne Acting Police Chief Aaron Noble said his office received word that a package brought in on Dec. 19 from a Weed Road resident was harmless. The resident was concerned that the package, which had a return address from Europe, was something potentially dangerous.
Police turned it over to Vermont Hazardous Materials officials who inspected the package and said it was “nothing dangerous,” Noble said.
“They never told us what was in it,” he added.
