Over the past three weeks, several folks have been publically nominated to receive the Colleen Haag Public Service Award. Active citizens have framed every single nomination in a positive light.
I was astounded to see a recent letter to the editor questioning the nomination of one of the candidates. Negative feedback about any nominee serves no purpose here and should be taken elsewhere.
How very sad that a touch of ugliness has tainted what should be a positive and uplifting experience for the award candidates and the community members who support them.
