Donations for senior ladies a success — Erika Schramm and Michelle Lewis

Thank you to this incredible community for the outpouring of support for the United Way of Northwest VT Women United Giving From the Heart 2018 Volunteer Project.

With the donations collected in our community and in surrounding towns, more than 50 elderly women receiving services from Age Well in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties were given baskets filled with new household essentials, comfort items, and toiletries. What an honor for us to bring love and light to ladies who are in need of this support.

Thank you, Shelburne/Charlotte Cub Scouts Pack 607 for sharing this opportunity with our community and for collecting donations. Thank you to The Fraternal Order of Eagles Champlain Eagles Aerie #793, the Women’s Auxiliary and T. Karl Hubbard for collecting donations of laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, toiletries, home goods, scarves, mugs and more. Thank you, Shelburne Girl Scouts Troop 30561 for collecting soap, hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner and other essentials. Thank you, Dr. Erica DeGuglielmo and Timberlane Dental for providing the toothbrushes and toothpaste needed for so many seniors. Thank you to the All Souls Interfaith Gathering community for collecting donations of tea and coffee. Thanks to Heidi Kvasnak and Lynne Alpeter at Yoga Roots for collecting donations of new socks, slippers and foot scrubs.

This is such a special effort and collaboration of The United Way and Age Well. We thank all the individuals, families and organizations for making this wonderful outreach project such an overwhelming success. We know these gift baskets will be enjoyed by many local senior ladies. Thank you all.
