Heins has the ability to listen, collaborate — Randolph Rowland

We are fortunate to have several excellent candidates for the open Selectboard seats to be decided at the polls in less than a week. For the two-year seat, I will be supporting Jaime Heins.

Jaime has demonstrated his dedication to Shelburne by serving for over four years on the Planning Commission (one year as chair), two years on the Board of Civil Authority and most recently by filling an interim seat on the Selectboard.

In speech and deed, Jaime has demonstrated his ability to listen to and collaborate with individuals on all sides of an issue. Jaime’s consensus building skills will be critical to a well-functioning Selectboard as the town addresses such difficult issues as mandated mitigation of stormwater runoff and maintaining the character of the community while dealing with the pressure to grow.

For a fresh approach to town governance, I hope you will join me in voting for Jaime.
