Vote on March 6 in Shelburne elections — Chris Boyd

I would like to take this opportunity to ask every registered voter in Shelburne to get out and vote on March 6.

Recently, the list of those who voted in elections from last March was sent to me. I found it amazing and disappointing to see just how few got out to vote.

Anyone with any concern for the tax rate or any other number of problems in town needs to get out and vote this March 6. This is a very important time and the first place any registered voter can make a difference is at the polling booth.

For anyone who remembers the comedian Red Skelton, he was an incredible man and an incredible comedian. He appeared on television and recited a story from when he was a boy about the Pledge of Allegiance and its meaning. This can be viewed on YouTube by doing a Google search for Red Skelton Pledge of Allegiance. This video has such an important and strong message that everyone can benefit from.

This message should make the reason for involvement in the voting process blatantly obvious for anyone who has any doubt about why they should get out and vote.

Nothing can change if we, the people, do not get involved and effect change. Please get out and vote and let your voice be heard. Thank you!
