Champlain Valley Union High School football players recently helped pack up a large customer order of mini meat sticks at the Vermont Smoke & Cure meat production facility located down the road from CVU in Hinesburg. For their efforts, company Chief Executive Tara Murphy presented the players with a $500 check to their program. Murphy, who has a son on the football team, called the arrangement a win-win as the company needed temporary extra help and the CVU Football Boosters begins its annual fundraising push to raise $25,000. More information about supporting the program is online at athletics.cvuhs.org/cvu-redhawks-football.html.
