A Memorial Day thank you to Shelburne residents — Carroll A. “Bud” Ockert

To the Editor:

As always, the Memorial Day Ceremony, 28 May 2018, at the Shelburne Veterans’ Monument in Shelburne was a tremendous success.

This was only accomplished by the outstanding support provided by those involved in the planning process through the use of the new speakers’ platform built by Mr. Zach Loiter as his Eagle Scout project, the tremendous support of Boy Scout Troop 602 to the final conduct of the ceremony.

And, I wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for such dedication. As I have said before, I am not going to attempt to name all those involved in this endeavor for fear of forgetting someone. That would be a big mistake on my part.

Let me just say again, thank you for your efforts, time and dedication in making the ceremony such a great success. As always, I want to thank all those in attendance for making this a special day.

And, the weather was wonderful.

Tremendous thanks go out to COL Henry U. Harder, Vice Commander, 158th Fighter Wing, Vermont Air National Guard for his thought-provoking presentation.
